Although at first glance it may seem a rather boring, flat and generic anime turns out to be a pretty excellent anime.
The history of exorcists is quite common and it is not the first time it has been seen, however it is a fresh option because it presents a plot with elements not very novel, but if very entertaining and well employed.
The animation is excellent, presents a mixture of special effects, animation and scenarios very well used, has a combination of excellent elements.
Although the only element I'm not very fan of is its design and some fanservice scenes (mostly unnecessary) the story is very good, entertaining and really worth seeing. In conclusion the excellent narrative has made this an excellent choice.

Sousei on Onmyouji is a series of Action genre, Supernatural, Fantasy, Shounen. The characters were okay, at best. However, towards the end, they end up having little to no real depth at all. In general, they're pretty much average with nothing special about them except for Rokuro's shark teeth (main male character). I initially hated both Rokuro and Benio, but I actually started liking the main characters around episode 14/15 after they unnecessarily spent all of that time developing the twin stars. However, they're basically just kids with sad background stories tasked with saving the world from Kegare. Honestly, they could probably have made this series into about 24 episodes if they skipped the unnecessary development episodes.
There are a lot of side characters with the potential to be interesting, but they all got little to no development. The dynamic between Benio and Rokuro is pretty nice to watch, but there's nothing special here. Rokuro's starts off as kind of annoying, fiery, not that smart, and overpowered, but the enemies do get much stronger and Rokuro matures quite a bit and actually becomes a pretty cool character. Benio is the typical smart, cool, amazingly strong, but lonely character. She also grows as the series progresses.

Sousei no Onmyouji is a series of shonen with elements of action, fantasy and supernatural. We follow Rokuro a boy of 14 years, a little useless, has no luck in love and does not stand out anything, except to be one of the best onmyoujis (Exorcists) there is, but incidentally, left this stage of his life Apart One day, walking a bridge fleeing a mission, a girl falls from the sky, literally, this girl is Benio, someone of few words that loves the ohagi. As they walked, spirits attacked children who passed by, and it turned out that Benio was another exorcist and quite strong, seeing the children Benio hesitated to help them, but the spirit that attacked them was too powerful for her and moments before being Defeated, rokuro's competitive spirit awakens and defeats him in one fell swoop.
It has a good character design, the fights leave to be desired, sometimes they become boring because they become repetitive, but in general the series is good.
